Sean Parry the Photographer

My first camera was a film 110, it was amazing. As an 8 year old I finally had the power to record images and have them printed for all to see. The major draw back of course was that it cost an arm and a leg to print the photos.

Roll on a decade and a bit and I'm still the same 8 year old fascinated by technology and photography and I'm still unable to afford the arm and leg it costs to have film developed. Of course, I now had a digital Canon 30D kitted out with arguably the finest wedding lens in the business, the Canon 24-70mm F2.8 L, not to mention I also have one of the coolest lenses, the Canon 15mm Fisheye F2.8. Armed with the 30D I can take photos on a whim, keep or delete and review them on the move. And then something that really gets me going, is that I can edit them as much as I like as many times as I like.

I use Lightroom 1.4 to organise and lightly edit my photo collection and then I use it's bigger brother Photoshop CS3 to really get to grips with image manipulation. I also use Photomatixs HDR tool for the creation of High Dynamic Range photos and a smattering of other plug-ins and mini tools.

Me personally? Well I'm married, live in Maidenhead, Berkshire and I take photos. I'm also an Online Marketer and in the Army.

I love all kinds of photos from landscape to weddings, portraits and macros. I completed my first wedding in the summer of 2008 for friends Tim and Emma Surry and although the experience of being a best man and a full-day photographer was shattering, the photos I took for them were exactly what they wanted.

So what does the future hold? Well I'm using this photoblog to increase my photography skills and create some interest in my own style. I hope one day to be able to offer wedding photography packages and sell my best photos as prints or as stock images. Until then, it's on with the photoblog.
