Taking good photos is not something you read or are told of by a friend. It's not something you buy and it's not the person you are or your location, although they can help.
No a good photographer is a persistent photographer. They usually can be summarised as 'one with the motivation to take photographs on a regular basis, without losing interest and who's never happy with their results'. Well at least that's my experience of it anyway.
When I started taking photos I thought you had to be at an event or doing something in particular, like a holiday, in order to actually take photos. I had no idea that people actually took photos on a regular basis of everyday things. Since changing my methodology towards how and when I took photos, a whole new world has opened up to me and one that has improved my photography skills no end.
With this, I've begun writing some basic photography guides that give you an overall picture of how to improve your skills and take better photpgraphs. I hope they help.
