As a kid I remember my dad taking me to funfairs and the most memorable moments were always when I would stare, and I mean just stop breathing and stare stare at the mountain of prizes at the stalls.
Of course back then it was very common for the prizes to be a massive bottle of vodka with cash strapped to it which was probably quite a pull with the young folk. But for me, it was always the wrestler toy roped to the top of the bottle that always had me exchanging my £5 hard earned pocket money for about 30 seconds of awkward fun.
I believe I only ever won once. And to my utter dismay, I didn't get the 6 litre bottle of vodka, with a fistful of £20s and a Ultimate Wrestler action figure, instead the somewhat cheeky attendant, produced an el-cheapo bottle of lemonade for my troubles and to add insult to a 8 year olds dream of winning, they dropped it in the mud. Fail.
